This concept centres on natural and human actions and how they impact the world, allowing us to understand how processes affect different environments and helping us to formulate predictions to plan for the future. This includes understanding the potential consequences of interactions between the natural and human environment, focusing on the use of the Earth's natural resources, its implications for the future, and how we can work to improve communities and the Earth’s future.

Interconnection is a central concept which helps to formulate links between people, places, and environments. This allows us to understand the importance and impact of these relationships and consider what may happen if they were changed or severed.

Cultural Understanding & Diversity focuses on the diversity of local and global communities and how they are connected with the natural world. This concept looks at how social and cultural interests interact with each other and how they utilise, value, adapt, and conserve natural resources in their locality.
